Nothing, but nothing, demands the spotlight for night like a richly shimmering metallic dress. Even in a more toned-down shade—deep copper, steely pewter gray—the effect is megawatt, and rival attention-grabbers like bondage dresses and siren-red gowns don’t stand a chance. But to avoid tipping into Vanna White territory, be sparing with the extras: minimal makeup, simple accessories—don’t mix in brights or patterns, and definitely don’t try to blend in other trends.
